Discover
A conversation, free of charge, to establish whether we are the right atelier for the work.

Cultural & personal brief
Who it is for, where it will live, what it must mean. Sources are identified and the scope defined.

Concept & maquette
A paid design stage: research, drawings, a maquette or material samples. Approval before anything is built.

Material & engineering
Structure, weight, mounting, fire and humidity, site constraints — resolved with your architect or designer.

Making
In the atelier and with its fabrication partners: clay, kiln, foundry, stone, metal, glass. Progress is documented.

Delivery & installation
Crating, insurance, customs, transport and installation by the atelier's team, worldwide.

Provenance archive
Certificate, unique work ID, source note, making record and care guide — entered into the private archive.
Do I need to know exactly what I want?
No. Most commissions begin with a person, a place or a date — not a form. The brief and concept stages exist to find the work.
Can you work from a room or an architectural plan?
Yes. Plans, sections, lighting schemes and site visits are part of the design stage; we coordinate directly with your architect or interior designer.
Can a commission reference my family, my company or my location?
That is what the atelier is for. Family names in bronze script, a company's founding story as a hidden layer, the geography of a place as a terrain.
Can you work beyond the Three Books or the Shanhai Jing?
Yes. The Three Books — the Classic of Mountains and Seas, the Book of Changes and the Yellow Emperor's Inner Classic — are our core framework; the wider expansion layer lets the atelier draw on literature, archaeology, craft, architecture, mythology and folk traditions across Chinese civilisation.
Do you work with architects and interior designers?
Constantly. We do not take over your project; the art becomes the most recognisable and most buildable layer of your scheme.
Can you ship and install internationally?
Yes — crating, insurance, customs and installation are handled by the atelier's team and partners.
Can my commission remain completely private?
Yes. Three levels: public, private (archive only, anonymous if shown) and strictly confidential under NDA. Prominent clients are private by default.
Who owns the artwork and reproduction rights?
You own the work. Reproduction and derivative rights are defined in the contract; the atelier's underlying symbol systems remain its own.
How long does a commission take?
Objects: typically 8–20 weeks after concept approval. Installations and architectural work: by project schedule, often 4–12 months.
How is pricing determined?
Editions and available works carry a price. Bespoke works are quoted after the concept stage from materials, making time, engineering, logistics and rights. The design stage is a paid retainer credited against the commission.
